Middle School Language Arts
Welcome to Mrs. Brandt’s Page!
The middle school is off and running. Summer projects look awesome! From what I can see it looks like everyone enjoyed their summer reading, and that is the goal.
The eighth grade has a complete handle on safety patrol, and they are doing a super job! The kindergarten and grade eight buddies did a wonderful job organizing the Peace Garden ceremony on September 11th. This year, students in the eighth grade will participate in public speaking activities, thanks to a parent with expert knowledge in this area. They are truly looking forward to this experience. The students have started writing and our first novel will be Kaleidoscope Eyes, by Jen Bryant. In addition, we are working hard to acquire plenty of new vocabulary.
The seventh grade has started reading The Light in the Forest by Conrad Richter. The story takes place in New Jersey during the time the Lenni Lenape Native Americans. They are also working hard on learning rigorous vocabulary.
Grade sixth has started the year reading The Prince and The Pauper by Mark Twain. They are enthusiastic and excited about the book. They too are stepping up their vocabulary.
