Bernardsville Audubon Center Service Learning Project 

Grades 6, 7, 8

On Friday, 11/8/13 the combined sixth, seventh, and eighth grades will be participating in a joint service learning project at the Bernardsville Audubon Center. The students will partner with their Middles School counter parts under school and Audubon Center Staff to perform some restoration work caused by Hurricane Sandy last October. This activity will combine service learning, Science, LA, Physical Education, and teamwork. Please see the following information regarding Friday:

 

     ·Students should dress warmly in School of St. Elizabeth active wear.

 

     ·Timeline for Friday

 

– 8:15 Parents drop students off at Bernardsville Audubon Center Parking Lot, 11 Hardscrabble Road, Bernardsville 07924, to be received by their teachers.

 

-8:30 – 11 Group Activities

 

-11:00 Depart Audubon center and walk back to St. Elizabeth for lunch/recess as per normal schedule.

 

-Students resume their normal Friday schedule.

 

     ·Permission slips will be sent home today with your child. Please complete both sides of this document and return to your child’s teacher tomorrow.
